10 Years in INFINITE BORDERS: S2 & XP Seasons Optimization Preview

2025/11/19

Greetings, mighty Lords!

A decade of epic encounters, a vast expanse of strategic ambitions. The last 10 years in INFINITE BORDERS have been a grand Three Kingdoms strategy saga co-authored by Lords and us. Staying true to our original vision, we remain committed to delivering a more enjoyable season experience.

With this in mind, we are introducing a series of season optimizations centered on "increased benefits, optimized game flow, lowered entry barriers, and reduced grind." Below are the detailed adjustments:

    [Increased Benefits, Faster Growth]

To enhance Lords' troop development experience both within and across seasons, we will introduce a series of benefit boosts:

(1) New Exclusive "Expanding and Growing" Event for S2

To help new Lords quickly form strong teams with less development burden so they can catch up with veterans and integrate into the Conquest Season, we will launch the exclusive "Expanding and Growing" event for all new <S2> starting after 11:00 (UTC+9) on November 26, 2025.

During the season, you can receive Recruitment Letters as rewards the first time you occupy land of Lv.3 or higher. A total of 20 Recruitment Letters can be earned, with an option to unlock an advanced tier to receive double that amount.

(2) Chen Shou's Feature Card – Selfpick Function Added

Since its release, Chen Shou's Feature Card has enriched lineup possibilities. To help Lords target specific Feature Cards and fine-tune lineup strategies, we are introducing a selfpick function.

After unlocking the Chen Shou's Feature Card draw, you will earn a selfpick chance after 20 and 40 total draws, respectively. Using the chance, you may pick any card you haven't obtained from the Chen Shou's Feature Card pools (including unlocked, merged, or unmerged pools). The acquired card will be removed from the pool.

(3) Increased Supply of Treasure Enhancement Materials

To make Treasure enhancement easier and help Lords raise Troop Combat Power faster, we're adding a "Treasure Merchant Enhancement Materials Boost" feature to World Milestones. After completing specific World Milestones, the amount of free enhancement materials available from the Treasure Merchant in the Marketplace will increase to 1.5 times the original amount.

    [Optimized Management, Unrestricted Growth]

To lower the entry barrier for early-stage Force management, ease pressure, and make the development experience smoother, we've optimized the early-stage management rhythm. The specific adjustments are as follows:

(1) Brand new Fame System

The new Fame system was first introduced in S1, S2, and the Conquest Season <Decisive Battle of Yiling>, and we've since received many suggestions and feedback. After a period of fine-tuning, the new Fame system will now be officially rolled out across all seasons.

The optimized Fame system integrates existing Fame, Development Matters, and Personal Evaluation features, providing a clearer, smoother progression experience throughout the season and determining personal tally rewards. Under the new system, the total Fame gained through Force Value remains the same, but instead of earning it in phases (at 10000–15000–20000–25000 Force Value), Lords will now gain a fixed amount of Fame for every 1000 Force Value increase, resulting in a more consistent growth pace for both Force Value and Fame.

At the same time, the ways to increase Fame will be more diverse. In the new system, reaching Fame level "Extr I" (equivalent to the previous "Extr" Personal Evaluation) will now have clearer and more achievable goals.

More detailed information about the Fame system can be found in an earlier Preview Blue Post. Tap the link below to review it.

(2) Land Development Within City Supply Range

After the feature allowing Lv.2 lands to be developed up to Lv.5 was introduced, it was warmly received by many Lords. In this iteration, we are further reducing the threshold for land development. Within the supply range of your Force's Main City, Subcities, and Border Towns, occupied Lv.3 and Lv.4 lands can now be developed by dispatching troops. Once developed, the land level will increase by 3.

In some seasons where unique land development rules are already in place, those existing systems will remain. Please refer to the Version Update Announcement of each season for handling details.

(3) New Buildings in City Supply Range: "Quarry" and "Scenic Terrace"

To help Lords obtain Lumber, Stone, Iron, Food, and Coin more easily and further enhance the management experience each season, we are introducing the Quarry and Scenic Terrace, which can be built within city supply ranges across all seasons.

Once Construction Value is unlocked, Lords can build a "Quarry" on Resource Lands of Lv.3 or higher within the supply range of their Main City, Subcities, or Border Towns. This building retains the original land yield while providing an additional 1200 of the same resource yield.

After reaching 5000 Fame, Lords will unlock the "Scenic Terrace," which provides tax yield and allows free placement of City Appearance Components.

Unlike in <S1>, the resource costs for constructing "Quarry" and "Scenic Terrace" have been adjusted. These changes will also apply retroactively to <S1>:

In seasons such as <Snow Halberd and Ice Spear> and <Eight Formations>, these buildings will have minor differences. Please refer to each season's Version Update Announcement for specific variations.

(4) Increased Warehouse Capacity

We also aim to ease early-stage resource management by significantly increasing the Main City's warehouse capacity across all seasons. The details are as follows:

(5) Faster City Construction

To further ease city management and allow Lords to complete Force development faster and enter battle sooner, we have reduced the upgrade time for city facilities by approximately 25%.

(6) New Domestic Affairs: Recruitment, Granary

In addition, to further reduce early-stage resource pressure and management grind, we previously introduced the Recruitment and Granary Administration features during the October 29 Server Routine Maintenance, with the following effects:

- Recruitment

·Select a City to use this feature. Based on the Reservist Recovery Speed, immediately gains 12 hours of Reservist Yield. However, Reservists will not recover over time for the next 12 hours. CD: 24 Hours

-Granary

·Based on the highest level of currently occupied Lumber, Iron Ore, Stone, and Food Land Tiles, immediately gains 24 hours of corresponding resource yield. However, the corresponding yield will be reduced for your Force for the next 24 hours. CD: 24 Hours

    [Optimized Pacing, Smoother Battles]

Large-scale strategic warfare on the real-time sand table is one of the core gameplay experiences of INFINITE BORDERS. To give Lords a more exciting and responsive battlefield experience, we've made the following improvements:

(1) Increased Marching Speed and Removed March Distance Limits

To make it easier for Lords to participate in battles and enhance combat experience, we increased the Basic Marching Speed of all troops by 80 in the November 12 update and removed the previous March Distance limits of 300/500 tiles.

(2) Adjusted Alliance Size and Growth Progression

Joining Alliances and waging war are key parts of INFINITE BORDERS. To encourage more Lords to participate in Alliance battles, we are adding an "Alliance EXP Boost" feature as part of World Milestones. Upon completion of the corresponding World Milestone, the conversion rate of troop battle EXP into Alliance EXP will increase by 100%.

Additionally, the maximum member capacity per Alliance Level will be increased. For example, in the <Clash of Chariots> season:

    [Reduced Grind, Enjoyable Seasons]

(1) New Siege Fortress for All Seasons

To lower the barrier to participating in sieges and allow more Lords to join the siege gameplay, the new Siege Fortress, which was previously introduced in S1 and S2, is now being officially implemented across all seasons following improvements based on player feedback. We will add Siege Fortress buildings around Cities. Lords can use them to delegate siege attacks.

When your Alliance occupies a Siege Fortress, you can spend 1 Decree to rally troops at the Siege Fortress, which can be activated by the Alliance Chief and Commander. After activation, the troops within will automatically march to besiege the city. After each siege, the troops will return to the Siege Fortress and wait before launching another siege. No manual operation required.

In addition, we are reducing the total number of cities while increasing the resource bonuses of existing ones. This change aims to reduce daily siege workload while maintaining sufficient resource supply, making each city on the sand table even more strategically significant.

(2) Reduced Prices of Season Honor Products

To help Lords start new journeys more smoothly in upcoming seasons and to minimize the impact of end-of-season activity on early-stage progression, we are reducing the Honor costs of Resource Packs, Stratagem EXP, and Decree Products. The specific details are as follows:
