Greetings, mighty Lords! During the late Han dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period, the situation was chaotic, with vassals seceding and countless heroes and outstanding talents shining on the stage of history. Among them, Dong Zhuo, the Grand Preceptor, was one of the key figures who shook the authority of the Han dynasty and propelled the confused fighting between the warlords.
In the late Eastern Han dynasty, Dong Zhuo wielded great power and inspired awe throughout the world. Although the allied forces of Guandong stirred up turmoil, Dong Zhuo calmly avoided direct confrontation by relocating the capital to Chang'an. Subsequently, the allied forces fell into internal strife, attacking each other and resulting in falling short of success at the last stage. The much-anticipated "decisive battle to unify the world" did not occur. If not for Wang Yun's Serial Tactics, who knows where the Eastern Han dynasty under Dong Zhuo's continued rule would have headed.
To enable Lords to once again deeply feel the pressure brought by Dong Zhuo's legion in history, we will launch a brand new themed season for S1: "Fight and Rise". In this season, Dong Zhuo's Legion will be extremely powerful, and the difficulty of capturing cities will be greatly increased. Lords will need to unite as one so as to defeat this formidable enemy.
[Dong Zhuo Held Power and Controlled the Imperial Court]
"Dong Zhuo had long heard that the world despised the eunuchs for killing the loyal and good. When he came to power, although he acted tyrannically, he still restrained himself and promoted many talents."
—Book of the Later Han - Biography of Dong Zhuo
Historically, Dong Zhuo was not a mere brute ignorant of political trickery. When he entered Luoyang, he drew the armed forces of the late Great General He Jin and his brother He Miao over to his side, and he canvassed Lu Bu to assassinate Ding Yuan, thereby annexing the Bingzhou Army and significantly expanding his force. After seizing control of the imperial court, Dong Zhuo demonstrated his political acumen by extensively appointing celebrities previously involved in suppression of the conspiratorial cliques, achieving the level of "actively selecting those who were suppressed or did not have the ear of their superiors and putting them in important positions". Meanwhile, Dong Zhuo's own subordinates only held military power. "Those whom Dong Zhuo favored did not hold prominent official positions, but lower-level ones such as generals and officers", which led many states and commanderies to temporarily accept Dong Zhuo's appointment under the guise of obeying the imperial court.
To recreate this historical period, we have enabled Dong Zhuo and his legions to not only occupy the cities and stages of Sili, Yongzhou, Yanzhou, and Yuzhou at the beginning of the season, but also control parts of other cities in the Nine States. Although these cities, far from the Capital and its Environs, will not be directly controlled by Dong Zhuo's legions for the time being, over time, or when Dong Zhuo's Legion fully occupies the four states of Sili, Yongzhou, Yanzhou, and Yuzhou, the camps of each legion will use these cities as footholds to gradually expand. After the season starts, Lords must not only develop and grow themselves but also unite as soon as possible to exclude Dong Zhuo's force from this state so as to curb his ambition of controlling the entire world.
[Guard Generals of Commanderies and Counties Occupied Cities]
"When Dong Zhuo led the elites and came, there was great chaos in the imperial family, allowing him to grab all the power and depose and enthrone emperors at will, seizing the arsenal's weapon and equipment and the kingdom's treasures, and inspiring awe throughout the world."
—Records of the Three Kingdoms - Dong Zhuo's Biography
After Dong Zhuo took power, he firmly grasped military power in his own hands, appointing trusted Heroes to guard key areas near the Capital and its Environs. Even after Dong Zhuo's downfall due to the Serial Tactics in history, the armed forces still demonstrated significant military strength, even defeating the Forbidden Guards of the Han dynasty and driving Lu Bu out of Chang'an, showcasing their formidable power. The high-ranking officials appointed by Dong Zhuo to govern various commanderies and counties also wielded crack troops, holding their own territory.
In this season, the initial cities of Dong Zhuo's Faction will have Heroes and Escort Camps guarding them. The troops in these Escort Camps are quite strong, comparable to or even equal to the City Garrison troops, and are solely focused on defending the cities. The City Guard Generals will also command the Escort Camps to help defend the cities when needed. Lords who wish to occupy these cities must first observe the behavioral styles of the City Guard Generals and plan accordingly to get twice the result with half the effort. Reckless fierce attacks may lead to unnecessary risks.
Additionally, the team led by a City Guard General will be the last one of the City Garrison. Although this is not decisive information, paying attention to it combat style in advance may benefit you in the battlefield.
[Perform Exploits and Get the Title of Marquis, Be of One Mind and Break the Enemy]
Lords can obtain Merits during the season by participating in sieges, crusading against the camps of each legion, and increasing their own Force Value. Upon reaching the corresponding Merits, they can be conferred the title of Marquis or even King. You can also claim Aristocratic Stipends and gain resources daily.
Lords need to work together with one heart to crusade against Dong Zhuo. Only by wiping out all the legions under Dong Zhuo's command can they achieve season victory. Alliances will ultimately be differentiated based on their Occupation Value and ranking for different tally rewards.
